Description
Up for auction is my 1979 Triumph Spitfire. Bought her as a gift for my wife but she says she'd like a kitchen remodel so off she goes to a new owner. Car has very low miles with 71,786 showing on the odometer. A well taken care of car as you'll see in the auction photos and in the description. Car sports the rare and highly sought after factory overdrive transmission and factory steel hard top options. These two options really set her apart from the run of the mill Spitfire's you see out there. If your looking at this auction then you know a "No Reserve" auction with a starting bid of just .00 is
extremely
rare thing to see, even more rare to see one in this condition with the rare factory options selling at No Reserve.
Highest bidder at the end of the auction takes her home.
Overdrive Transmission: Yes she sports the very rare and highly desirable factory overdrive transmission. Having the overdrive really helps with keeping up with current highway speeds.
Hard Top: Car comes with the correct factory steel hard top as seen in the photos. This is a steel hard top and not a cheaper fiberglass one. Has all the original Triplex glass and pop out side rear windows for better air flow.
Mechanicals:
The car runs and sounds great. Starts right up with no issues, smoke or ticking noises. Recent tune up and oil change. Nice clean and tidy engine bay. Inner hood and fender wells look great. Has strong clutch and brake peddles, And brake works as well. Needs nothing to my knowledge at this time.
Exterior
:
This is a nice driver quality car. Sports the chrome luggage rack and chrome door side mirrors. All original Triplex glass. Period after market wheels and I do have all 5 original wheels and center caps if you want to change the look to more of a factory one. Nice door and panel fit. Nice front & rear lower valances and bumpers. Not an expert but I find no signs of rust or rust repairs on the car. Again, a nice driver quality car.
Interior: In very good condition as seen in the photos. New carpet kit, new door seals and new seats. Left the headrest off for the look but she does come with them.
Electrical's: At last check all exterior lights and switches where in proper working order right down to the blower fan and hazard switch. Note: the radio is on its last leg so you should plan on replacing it.
Gauges: All gauges are correct "Smith" brand. All working at this time.
Covers: The car comes with a Tonneau / full cockpit cover.
Soft Top: Car has a soft top but has not been up in some time. It will keep you dry but to do the car justice I'd put a new one on over the winter.
Underbody: As seen in the auction photos she's clean and solid. Almost looks new.
Trunk: The trunk is rock solid. Neat and clean with factory wheel with new tire on it.
Title: Clean signed and notarized North Carolina title and Bill of Sale.

In Closing: The above description is my observations and opinions and they very from person to person so ask all questions prior to bidding.
If I have missed anything in the cars description it was not my intention so please ask for as much detail as you need to make an informed decision on the car prior to bidding.
Don't want the winning bidder saying afterwards well you missed this or that. Be a responsible bidder and ask all questions prior to bidding. Not responsible if I've missed anything.
Opinions vary from person to person so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or any extra photos please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. She's a 42+ year old car in driver quality condition. Due to the cars age and having no way to warranty the car I'm selling her as in "As Is" condition and mileage exempt. A 0 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end via PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account then don't bid.
