1981 Yamaha XS

Description

I have owned this classic muscle bike for about seven years.  During that time, I have continually improved the bike both mechanically and cosmetically to the point that there is really nothing left to do but ride it!  I had the fifth wheel gear professionally replaced to fix and correct the common problem with this model - second gear failure.  Also, had the seals and fork oil replaced, installed a Tkat fork brace, crash bars, and vintage Jardine pipes, replaced the carb boots, installed a new front tire, installed a new battery, replaced the brake pads and had the brake system flushed.  The original 80 MPH speedometer was also replaced with an older 160 MPH version, but I still have the original speedometer.  In addition, I have recently installed highway pegs (not pictured) on the crash bars.  Lastly, the bike does come with a windshield too, but I am not sure if it is original to the bike or not. This model in this condition is rare nowadays and I always get a lot of attention at classic bike shows and so far it has been the only one of this model represented at the shows that I have attended.  From what I can tell, most of these bikes have either been modified to the point of non-recognition or parted out!  This bike has fresh oil and filter and just needs a new rider!
